Marciana Marina

Marciana Marina, a coastal jewel located at the foot of the northern slope of Mount Capanne, is the smallest municipality of Elba. It was founded at the end of the XVII century but its origins are much older and they date back to the use of its marina that, well sheltered from the winds, was the main port of the western part of the island. The marina was used for the transport of iron and wine, the latter produced in abundance in the valley of Marciana.

We will show you where it all began visiting the oldest streets of the village: we will start from the Cotone, the first residential complex of Marciana Marina, then cross the main square dominated by the church of Santa Chiara and then travel the most historically important streets until we get to the Tower, the symbol of the village.
